Payroll & CIS

In our view, this is one of the most important activities which your business has to deal with – it is crucial that your people receive the right amount of pay, at the right time. You also need to be able to give clear answers to any queries about how it was calculated.

That said, the task of payroll processing can often divert you from your core business activity. It is our job to help and take the worry and time out of this process for you. By allowing us to look after your payroll activity, we will free up more time for you and your team to attend to other business areas, therefore creating more opportunities and raising efficiency in the business.

Another key reason to let us help you in this area is the rate at which HM Revenue & Customs’ (HMRC) are introducing more automatic penalties for non-compliance by challenging deadlines. So our involvement could also save you substantial funds.

Our payroll services are thorough and, of course, compliant with HMRC statutory requirements. We can deal with every aspect of UK wages and salary requirements including:

  • Setting up a new payroll system
  • Day to day payroll processing
  • Dealing with PAYE and National Insurance deductions
  • Completing your end of year returns (including P60s and P35s)
  • Holiday pay
  • Statutory sick pay (SSP)
  • Statutory maternity pay (SMP) and statutory paternity pay (SPP)
  • Stakeholder pensions
  • Salary sacrifice
  • Student loan deductions

When deciding the best approach to payroll for your business, you need to understand that we don’t just provide a processing facility (as offered by the many “cheap and cheerful” 'conveyor belt payroll bureaux' out there). You get 'added value' from us, as we check and advise on your calculations (e.g. SSP, SMP, SPP, Salary sacrifice etc), to give you piece of mind.

We also offer you professional fee insurance in the event of an HMRC PAYE enquiry, investigation or even a compliance visit.

We have a number of construction industry clients to whom we provide a monthly CIS return and/or CIS support service. There are severe and automatic penalties for late monthly returns and/or payments. We can advise you with regard to any aspect of the CIS.

You will be pleased to know that there is an extensive Business Advisory Guide (under the Infozone section in the main menu) entitled The Construction Industry Scheme which we hope will provide you with a lot of information relevant to this issue, from registration to compliance. Work with us in this area, to see if there are any opportunities for your business in its operation of the scheme.

We also offer you professional fee insurance in the event of an HMRC CIS enquiry, investigation or even a compliance visit.
